Impact Fifty recognises only 50 companies for their commitment to creating a workplace environment where all employees feel they are making a genuine impact on an important cause.

Founded as a philanthropic extension of Google, its purpose is to utilise the company's assets and expertise to address society's major challenges. Since its creation, Google.org has been at the forefront of innovative thinking and problem solving in the areas of climate change, economic opportunity, and crisis response. It provides funding and resources to non-profit organisations working on these issues, and also develops its own initiatives to create solutions using technology. Google.org has launched numerous programs aimed at reducing carbon emissions, such as its Renewable Energy Cheaper than Coal (RE<C) initiative. RE<C was established to advance and encourage technology that can generate renewable energy at a lower cost than coal, making it a more practical and accessible option compared to fossil fuels.

In addition to its funding and technical support, Google.org also advocates for policy change and supports innovative approaches to addressing societal issues. It has become a leader in the tech community for its commitment to creating a better future for all, and continues to work towards its goal of making a positive impact in communities around the world.

In order to truly build for everyone, we know that we need a diversity of perspectives and experiences, and a fair hiring process is the first step in getting there.
